Ok, here we are! Midnight EST (which is 6 a.m. here) all 200 participants of the Bead Soup Blog Hop should publish a blog post with pictures of the pieces they made from the surprise beads they have received from their partners. Can’t wait to see all of them! This was a wonderful idea by Lori Anderson. Please, hop with us today, you can find the link list on Lori’s blog or on the bottom of this post.
I have just snipped off the last thread ends and I must say, I am quite content with the result. In case the photos appear to be blurry, please excuse me. It is 2:30 a.m. and I am so tired I can’t focus my eyes.
My partner Ginger had sent me beads that suggested making something “Asian style” in red and black (which I totally like!). Those lovely beads made it quite easy for me to find matching ingredients in my bead boxes and very soon I had some ideas in the back of my brain: The fish was a pendant, the rosary chain transformed into a tassel and the coral and lava beads got wired with some caps and eyepins. I added some straps in modified netting, you could also use them as Chinese finger trap :-)
I had loads of fun and this necklace will always remind me of this Bead Soup Blog Hop Party! Thank you so much, Ginger and Lori!

Thank you all! Moonsafari, this bead is "upcycled" from a broken old bracelet and has been sitting in my stash for years. And now I am happy it found a new home :-)

What a great piece you designed. I think you were right to choose the theme that you did and I think you did a great job creating around it.

Beautiful work! Black, red and silver happen to be one of my favorite color combinations. <3
Lovely! Red and black is one of my favorite color palettes! Love the asian vibe.
The red beadwork with those clear beads is so cool! They look totally like a coral branch to me. Great job with your bead soup!
I love your necklace. Red and black is a classic color combination. Always looks good together. Your seed bead work is lovely and everything just goes together so perfectly. I am still working my way through being just over half done. It is very time consuming and I am loving every minute of it. Great job!
Beautiful. Love the stunning colors and designs.
Wonderful design! I really like the different dangles you created to hang from the pendant piece. Great mix of the colors too, well balanced.
