Woo-hoo! What a really exciting weekend this was last week with Marcia DeCoster! A big, big "Thank You" again to Petra Tismer from "Das Perlament" in Bonn who has made this possible. And of course to Marcia DeCoster, who is a wonderfiul person and a great designer and teacher.
Heute komme ich endlich mal dazu, ein paar Bilder einzustellen. Ich Depp hatte natürlich wieder mal den Fotoapparat dabei, aber dann vergessen zu knipsen. Aber wenigstens habe ich die Schmücker als Beweis, dass ich überhaupt da war. Am Freitag ging es los mit "Rings of Saturn", eines meiner Lieblings-Designs! Das hat total Spaß gemacht, wenn ich auch im Laufe des Tages nicht weit gekommen bin. Hab zuviel geschwatzt und erklärt, war ja schließlich als Übersetzerin eingeteilt :-)
Today I finally find the time to post some pictures. Stupid me of course forgot to take class pics (again), but at least I have the jewelry to prove I was there. On Friday we started with "Rings of Saturn", a total favourite of mine! It was really fun, although I did not get too far in class. I've been chatting too much. And of course, I was there to translate after all :-)
Am Samstag war nix geplant, so konnte ich mit meinem Besuch Elvira einfach loslegen und...den ganzen Tag einfach nur perlen. HA! Am Abend stieß auch noch Elke zu uns und irgendwie wurde es dann ziemlich spät und teilweise seeehr albern.
Elvira beschloß am Nachmittag kurzfristig noch, Marcia mit einem ihrer Häkelkunstwerke zu überraschen. Sie wurde prompt in meiner Box mit den antiken tschechischen 18-er Charlotten fündig und hat sich gleich ans Werk gemacht. Noch etwas Silber drangetüddelt und voilà! Fertig war "Clementine", rechtzeitig zur Übergabe am Sonntag. (Ich hätte vermutlich schon beim Auffädeln der Winzdinger das Handtuch geworfen)
On Saturday we had no plan to do anything, so we (my visitor Elvira and me) could ... just bead away the whole day! Yay! In the evening Elke joined us and it got really late and quite giggly.
In the afternoon, Elvira had the idea to surprise Marcia with one of her bead crochet pieces. She dug into my box of charlottes and found those antique czech 18/0-s. Ready...go! After some hours silver findings attached and voilà! This is "Clementine", just in time to be a present on Sunday. (I would have already given up at threading those teensie-weensie beads)
Ja, und am Sonntag war dann "Kür" für mich mit "Romantica". Ich habe ein zwei Lampwork-Perlen von Uli Kreiterling, die ich unbedingt mit einbauen möchte, und dann die übrigen Farben entsprechend dazu ausgesucht. Sie sind etwas groß, deshalb wird Romantica bei mir auch nicht ganz so zierlich wie sonst. Macht nix, das passt zu mir. So weit bin ich inzwischen, ob ich die Anhänger alle benutze, weiß ich noch nicht. Ich mach einfach mal zehn Stück oder so und wähle dann fünf aus. Der Rest wird anderweitig verbraten.
Sunday was my Fun-day with "Romantica". I chose two lampwork beads from Uli Kreiterling and built the color scheme around them. They are a bit too big for that design, so my Romantica will be a little bit less "petite" than it usually is. This is totally ok with me. Here you can see how far I am right now. I don't know if I will use those medaillons I already made. I think I will make at least ten of them and then chose the five I want to have. The rest will be maybe a bracelet or earrings or whatever.
