Souvenir aus Okinawa

Nun ist es also soweit, um Mitternacht Eastern Standard Time (6 Uhr morgens bei uns) sollen alle 200 Teilnehmer am Bead Soup Blog Hop einen Blogpost veröffentlichen mit Bildern der Stücke, die sie aus den Materialpäckchen ihrer jeweiligen Tauschpartner gemacht haben. Ich bin ja mal gespannt, ob das auch bei allen so geklappt hat. Ich finde, das war auf alle Fälle eine tolle Idee von Lori Anderson! Wer mithüpfen will, die Link-Liste findet ihr auf Loris Blog oder hier unten im Post.
Ok, here we are! Midnight EST (which is 6 a.m. here) all 200 participants of the Bead Soup Blog Hop should publish a blog post with pictures of the pieces they made from the surprise beads they have received from their partners. Ich habe eben die letzten Fäden abgeschnitten und bin mit meinem Ergebnis sehr zufrieden. Ob die Fotos nun allerdings scharf sind oder überhaupt was taugen, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Es ist 2:30 in der Nacht und ich bin so müde, dass ich nicht mehr scharf sehen kann.
I have just snipped off the last thread ends and I must say, I am quite content with the result. In case the photos appear to be blurry, please excuse me. It is 2:30 a.m. and I am so tired I can’t focus my eyes.

Zu dem in der Farbgebung leicht asiatisch angehauchten Perlenpäckchen meiner Tauschpartnerin Ginger fanden sich in meinen diversen Kistchen und Boxen passende Zutaten und auch schnell eine passende Designidee in meinem Hirnkastel: Der Fisch wurde ein Anhänger, aus der Rosenkranzkette wurde eine Quaste und die Korallen und Lavakugeln wurden mit Käppchen angedrahtet. Dazu habe ich einige Röhrchen in modifizierter Netztechnik gefädelt, die gehen aber auch als chinesische Fingerfalle durch :-)

My partner Ginger had sent me beads that suggested making something “Asian style” in red and black (which I totally like!). Those lovely beads made it quite easy for me to find matching ingredients in my bead boxes and very soon I had some ideas in the back of my brain: The fish was a pendant, the rosary chain transformed into a tassel and the coral and lava beads got wired with some caps and eyepins. I added some straps in modified netting, you could also use them as Chinese finger trap :-)

Es hat auf alle Fälle einen Riesenspaß gemacht und diese Kette wird mich immer an diesen Bead Soup Blog Hop erinnern. Vielen Dank, Ginger und Lori!
